Yep, the beard's real.

Former lawyer. Finance recruiter. Now your mortgage mate.

Hey, I'm Dan

Beard. Tattoos. Hoodie, sometimes. I'm not what you picture when you think "mortgage broker", and that's kind of the point.

With a background in litigation law and three years financial services recruiting, I've seen how confusing property and finance can be.

I've helped place professionals across financial planning, mortgage broking, accounting, insurance, property and fintech - giving me unique insights into what works (and what doesn't) in this industry.

How I got here.

Hey, I'm Dan

Former lawyer. Finance recruiter. Now, your mortgage mate. My path into broking wasn’t the usual one, and neither is my approach.

I’ve bought property myself, so I know how overwhelming it can feel. I’m here to cut through the noise, explain the tricky stuff and help you find your way in.

No suit. No talking down to you. Just honest conversations and someone who’s with you from the first chat to well beyond settlement.

Why did you start your business? Howdid it begin?

I was a commercial lawyer for a while, then Covid came alongand I got made redundant. Moved into recruitment in financeand insurance, we started recruiting mortgage brokers forroles.I worked out through recruitment that I really liked takingpeople through a process (in that case it was landing a newrole) and helping them on that journey. So I thought, there isn’tmuch bigger of a process than purchasing property.I was always into property and finance and had purchased afew properties myself, so thought why not help others do thesame.I focus on millennials and first home buyers/investors as I knowhow hard it is for them to get into the market, and workingwith them to get their foot in the door is extremely rewarding.

What are your business values?

Being honest and clear with clients on their position and howwe achieve their goals.Simplifying finance so it doesn’t feel so unachievable.Educating them as we go along.Giving clients a 5 star experience.

What makes your approach differentfrom your competitors?

Most competitors are generic and have no specific niche theyhelp. I have a niche I like to help and ensure they’re set up for

Dan sees himself as an "everyday dude who helps you with your home loan", rather than a suit-and-tie finance professional. His beard, tattoos, casual clothing and personality are genuine parts of the brand rather than something to hide.

His professional background also provides useful credibility and differentiation. Before becoming a mortgage broker, Dan worked for approximately 8 years as a lawyer and 3 years in financial services recruitment. His legal experience particularly informs his ability to take complicated information and explain it simply.
